The Calhoun County Council meeting included a swearing-in ceremony for reelected and newly elected Council Members. The council reelected the Chairman and Vice-Chairman, and elected a Chaplain. The agenda was amended to include an Executive Session for a Personnel Matter. Public comments were heard regarding concerns about an ordinance on boards and commissions, and another ordinance regarding the Sandy Run Fire District. The council conducted a third reading and passed ordinances related to land development regulations and zoning designations. They also discussed and approved the Tri-County Multi County Industrial Park Agreement, accepted Wild Cherry Ct into the County Road Maintenance System, and approved a bid for Concessions Buildings at the Sports Complex. Additionally, the council discussed ordinances related to boards and commissions, the County Fire Commission, and convalescent transportation.

Specific initiatives include promoting agritourism, ecotourism, and heritage tourism; supporting existing businesses; and improving town centers. The plan aims to create economic opportunities for all residents while maintaining the county's rural identity.
