The council addressed property damage concerns from Sunnyside Range regarding recent road construction. A public hearing was held to amend the fiscal year 2026 budget, resulting in the approval of budget and fund transfer resolutions. Further actions included authorizing street closures for the upcoming AtlanticFest 2026, approving a payment application for the West 22nd Street Improvements Project, and confirming several reappointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Library Board of Trustees, and the Beautification Committee.

The City Council approved an amendment to the financial policy and the awarding of a cleaning services contract. They authorized a land lease agreement, set seasonal wastewater wages, and scheduled a public hearing regarding the sale of real estate. Furthermore, the council approved pay applications for the West 22nd Street improvements and concrete street improvements projects, as well as a resolution establishing privileges for city bank accounts. The council also coordinated a future work session to review details for a grant application and discussed a community initiative for property beautification.

The council meeting addressed several items including a Class C Retail Alcohol License for Plaza Azteca, a tree trimmer permit for Iowa Timber Solutions, and the review of city bills. The council received a presentation regarding the Tree City USA award and its 30-year history of tree maintenance and grant savings. Approval was granted to close 6th Street for the Produce in the Park event and to display a related banner. Public hearings were held for the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget and the 2027-2037 Ten-Year Capital Improvement Plan, both of which were subsequently approved by resolution. The council also approved resolutions regarding salaries for city employees, seasonal wages for parks and recreation, and amendments to sick leave retirement benefits within the city personnel handbook. Finally, the council authorized the sale of city-owned property at 411 Birch Street for the construction of a new residential home.

The council received an update from the Atlantic Cemetery Association and approved several orders, including a fireworks permit for a softball event, the designation of a new City Building Official, and a declaration of a dangerous building. Financial actions included the passage of resolutions to reclassify funds in accordance with GASB 54 and the establishment of a FEMA Disaster Recovery Capital Projects Fund. Furthermore, the council set a date for a public hearing to amend the fiscal year budget.
