The Strategic Plan 2030 for Central Connecticut State University aims to renew its mission as the state's oldest publicly funded institution by focusing on changing lives and building communities. It ensures a strong liberal arts foundation and seeks to educate career-ready, civic-minded graduates. The plan includes five primary goals: enhancing academic excellence, increasing access and ensuring student success, fostering an inclusive and safe campus culture, strengthening stewardship through scholarship and community engagement, and assuring financial sustainability. The vision is to advance social mobility and drive economic, cultural, and intellectual vitality while adapting to changing trends and emerging opportunities.

This document outlines strategic goals under three primary pillars: Accessibility, Completion, and Talent, aiming to be achieved by 2030. The plan focuses on expanding educational pathways, broadening talent pipelines, increasing diverse student representation, and enhancing affordability. It also emphasizes fostering student success through improved retention, innovative teaching, and flexible credentialing. Finally, the plan seeks to empower students for career success by strengthening industry partnerships, integrating experiential learning, and embedding essential professional skills into academic programs.

This strategic plan outlines a 10-year roadmap focusing on five key goals. It aims to enhance academic excellence and prepare graduates for a changing economy, increase access to higher education and ensure student success, foster an inclusive and safe campus culture that values free exchange of ideas, strengthen scholarship and advance service learning and community development, and elevate financial sustainability and prosperity.

The meeting included various announcements, such as an update on edTPA committee work, recognition of a Fulbright Scholarship recipient and a Milken Educator Award winner, and information regarding federal funding for EPPs and LEAs. The SEPS Dean provided updates on a state-level fingerprinting task force, a Troops to Teachers grant, and plans for a social and emotional learning conference. Subcommittee reports were provided regarding assessment, partnerships, and curriculum. Additionally, the committee discussed the implementation of the Educator Disposition Assessment, including a pilot program for the upcoming fall semester.

The meeting centered on the discussion and approval of a Pass/Fail grading option for student teachers for the Spring semester. Participants also reviewed proposed revisions to the organizational by-laws, which included the addition of new advisory boards and core values. Updates were provided by several subcommittees regarding edTPA waivers for students, continued membership in the National Network for Education Renewal, and forthcoming recommendations for the Computer Science department.
