The Westside Community Schools Facilities Master Plan Phase II is a $121.0 million bond-funded initiative, approved in May 2023, aimed at comprehensive facility upgrades and expansion from FY 2023 through FY 2028. Its primary objectives include constructing new elementary schools at Hillside, Westgate, and Loveland, expanding eating and infrastructure capacities at middle and high schools, and implementing essential improvements such as new gyms, storm shelters, mechanical systems, ADA accessibility, and general infrastructure across various other elementary schools and the district office.
The Bond Oversight Committee (BOC) meeting included the approval of the January 13, 2026 BOC meeting minutes. The Phase II Bond Program Update noted that committed costs stand at 83.4%, with one project in design, three complete, and the rest under construction. The biggest commitment change was the early release package for Loveland. Current projects updates included detailed progress reports: Hillside Elementary demolition is complete, and site grading has started, with outdoor work ahead of schedule due to good weather. Westgate Elementary demolition has begun, though there are ongoing punch list items related to lighting systems and concrete finishing issues, for which testing is underway. Westside High School projects are progressing, with steel erection complete for the cafeteria/locker room expansion, and site mobilization for the fluid cooler project underway. Minimal work was noted for Westbrook Elementary in February. Paddock Road Elementary is focusing on interior finishes and exterior windows, while Rockbrook Elementary is focused on masonry and MEP rough-ins. Underwood Hills Elementary has minimal work this month, with major activity starting in June 2026. For Loveland Elementary, bids were received for Package #1, and abatement of houses is complete, with community engagement meetings addressing tree replacement concerns related to sewer line relocation. Cost trackers showed no significant changes to schedules or project status documents, and the next financial update is scheduled for March. Communications planning continues with the Director of Communications & Engagement.
