The Colquitt County Board of Education announced that the millage rate would be set at a regular meeting. The notice included a presentation of the current year's tax digest and levy, along with a five-year history.

The meeting included an overview of Archways projects, including a transportation study in Moultrie and a study of nonprofits in Moultrie. The board discussed and approved personnel items, a Grading Systems Policy Update, and a Chromebook purchase for Funston Elementary School using Title I-A Funds. A lighting proposal for the Middle School Baseball/Softball field at Packer Park was tabled. The purchase of Newline Interactive Panels for elementary schools using the L4GA Birth to Five Grant was approved. The superintendent provided updates on COVID-19, drop out rates, attendance, school nutrition, and financials. The board also discussed a GSBA self-assessment and entered an executive session to review an appeal from a Student Disciplinary Tribunal.
The meeting included recognitions of the Migrant Education Program Student of the Year, Georgia EMC Awards recipients, the BRAVO Employee of the Year, CCHS Graduates committed to military service, and a Board Member appointed to the GSBA Governmental Operations Committee. Presentations covered tennis courts at Packer Park and Landscaping RFPs. The board discussed and approved a resolution to support a vision project, vision/mission/collective commitments, goals and objectives, a strategic plan with a balanced scorecard, a board member code of ethics policy, and a board member conflict of interest policy. Additional items approved included field trips and fundraisers, implementation of Smart Mouth Pizza at Colquitt County High School, replacement of non-ERATE access points, Camp Invention Recharge Kits, facilities bid recaps, a supplement, a Mitel Phone Service Controller Purchase, FY22 Pay Scales, the FY22 Tentative Proposed Budget, Athletic Recommendations for SY2021-2022, School Nutrition Small Equipment Bid Recaps, and FY21 Budget Adjustments. The board entered an executive session to discuss personnel matters, and upon re-entering the open meeting, approved personnel actions related to leave of absences, retirees, resignations, and new hires.
