The Thermopolis Town Council convened to discuss several topics, including the Broadway Bridge resurfacing project and its impact on local businesses, a motorcycle awareness parade, and a street closure for the OEB's kick-off summer party. They also discussed street closures for Food Truck Friday events. The council reviewed department reports and approved the third and final reading of an ordinance granting a nonexclusive franchise to Rocky Mountain Power. Additionally, they discussed and approved the second reading of an ordinance revising the carport definition, location, and construction. An appointment was made to the Big Horn Basin Nature & Discovery Center Board.

The council discussed and approved a catering permit for OEB Saloon. They reviewed department reports, including safety classes attended by employees and the expected arrival of a new garbage truck. Discussion was held regarding federal funding for street improvements, and council members were asked to identify areas of concern. The second reading of a sanitation rate increase was approved, with amendments regarding animal carcasses. The first reading of the 2025-26 budget was also approved. An update was given on the Yankee Dome well site funding.

The council discussed and approved the agenda with changes, including moving Riverside Subdivision from Engineer to Codes and adding another executive session. They addressed citizen participation, including a nomination for the Travel & Tourism Board and approval of street closures for the PRCA Rodeo parade. Department reports were reviewed, and an ordinance increasing sanitation rates was discussed. The council also approved the Mayor signing the landfill agreement extension and the Riverside Subdivision Plat. An executive session was held to discuss a resignation. Finally, the council discussed a trip to the Saratoga transfer station, the A2A action plan, social media, and public notification.

The council approved a catering permit for Double D LLC for an event at the Fairgrounds. An update was provided on the closure of the Star Plunge and efforts to mitigate its impact on tourism. Concerns were raised about playground safety at Family Park and Glade Edwards Park, and a nuisance complaint was discussed regarding a property on Fremont Street. A conditional use permit for a barber shop was approved, as well as a retail liquor license transfer. The council also discussed a training exercise at the baseball fields, landfill cell staking, and a composting class. An ordinance revising carport definitions, location, and construction was approved. Questions were raised about the website, and plans were made to visit the Saratoga transfer station.

The strategic plan for Thermopolis and Hot Springs County focuses on six key pillars: economic development and employment opportunities, housing and commercial real estate development, education and workforce development, childcare, cultural and recreational opportunities, and infrastructure and public services. The plan aims to enhance the quality of life for residents by addressing community needs identified through surveys and feedback, including workforce training, business recruitment, housing shortages, and infrastructure improvements. The plan emphasizes collaboration among community resources and entities to achieve shared goals and ensure a safe and thriving environment.
