The Approved Local Innovation Plan 2022-2027 focuses on exemptions from the Texas Education Code to maximize educational opportunities for students. Key areas include flexibility in the school start and end dates, local control over teacher certification, determining class sizes and student-teacher ratios, adjusting minimum attendance requirements for class credit, determining contract service days, scheduling professional development, modifying probationary contracts, and managing school district depositories contract.

The board discussed the renewal process of the district's Local Innovation Plan, the change of TRS insurance to regional rates for the next school year, progress for the year, and the current board vacancy and upcoming Superintendent Evaluation. The board also approved policy updates as recommended by TASB Policy Service.

The board meeting included approval of budget amendments for band travel and facility improvements. A resolution was passed to allocate votes for the Haskell County Appraisal Board of Directors to Susan Turner. The district improvement plan for the 2021-2022 school year was approved. The board also decided to issue KC Bucks to staff. Finally, the superintendent reported on the upcoming renewal process of the district's Local Innovation Plan.
