This document outlines the Margaretville Central School District's comprehensive District Level Safety Plan and its Learning Plan for Remote Learners. The Remote Learners Plan establishes guidelines for delivering remote instruction, covering student accessibility, accommodations for students with disabilities, instructional methodologies, counseling services, and communication protocols for stakeholders.

The meeting focused on the conduct of a district-wide vote concerning the school budget for the 2026-27 school year, the acquisition of two new school buses through bonding and tax collection, and an annual tax levy allocation for the support and maintenance of the Skene Memorial Library and the Fairview Public Library. Additionally, the proceedings included the election of a board member for a three-year term to fill an expired seat.

The 'Blueprint for Excellence' is a strategic plan for the Margaretville Central School District, developed through collaborative efforts with the community, staff, and leadership. It serves as a roadmap to foster continuous growth and improvement, connecting with each child and family while enhancing school and community ties. The plan is organized around three priority areas: enhancing Student Experiences and Opportunities to foster greater connectivity to the community and the world, developing a comprehensive program for effective Communication and Community Engagement, and providing school Facilities/Infrastructure that meet 21st-century learning, health, and safety needs. The ultimate vision is to provide innovative, inclusive, and engaging learning experiences, preparing all students for life beyond school.

The Board of Education meeting covered a range of topics, including updates from the Communications and Policy Committees, and a budget presentation highlighting current financial constraints and the proposed 4.21% tax levy increase. Discussions also included a plan to purchase two small buses, recaps of recent student educational trips, a proposal for a future language immersion trip, and an analysis of Regents exam results. Additionally, the Board appointed two new ex officio student members, celebrated a grant awarded to the English department, and provided updates on various student-led initiatives and upcoming activities.

The board addressed several administrative and operational matters. Discussions included policy updates regarding AEDs and board membership, as well as presentations on vehicle inventory, the 2026-27 draft budget, and legislative state aid. Personnel actions were taken, including hiring substitute staff, appointing aides, and accepting a resignation. The board approved multiple resolutions, such as the acquisition of two school buses, tax levies to support local libraries, the purchase of instructional technology equipment, the 2026-27 school calendar, cooperative purchasing agreements, and the acceptance of O'Connor Foundation grants. Additionally, field trips for the 5th grade and the FCCLA were authorized.
