The council held the first reading for ordinances to amend salary ranges for city staff and pay structures for fire and police personnel. The annual budget for the upcoming fiscal year was adopted following a second reading. Public comments were addressed regarding neighborhood easement and sidewalk issues. The Mayor provided updates on upcoming city events, the America's 250 Celebration, and the construction status of the new Public Works building. Council members discussed the potential for a moratorium on data centers, reviewed recent infrastructure tours, and inquired about code enforcement response procedures.

The council meeting included the presentation of a Certificate of Excellence to an intern and the approval of a salt bid from Morton Salt for $131,040.00. The Mayor presented the annual budget message for the upcoming fiscal year, and the council passed an ordinance adopting the annual budget. Additionally, the council approved an ordinance creating a new position for a Public Safety Official. Department reports were provided regarding local tourism and public works projects, and the council discussed signage for the entertainment district.

The City Attorney provided an update regarding received opioid settlement funds. Additionally, a closed session was conducted pursuant to KRS 61.810(a)(g) to discuss business development proposals.

Additionally, the council heard the first reading of an ordinance to create a Records Management Specialist position. The session included the presentation of life-saving awards to firefighters, a public inquiry regarding a parking lot project, a report on Fire Department operations, and updates from the Mayor concerning various local infrastructure projects and developments.
