The School Health Advisory Committee will discuss and potentially take action on several key items. The potential financial implications, including both savings and costs, were also discussed.

This resolution canvasses the returns of a bond election held on May 4, 2024, to authorize the issuance of $19,500,000 in bonds for school facilities and buses. Proposition A, which proposed the bond issuance and a tax levy to pay for it, passed with 340 votes for and 285 votes against. The resolution declares the election duly held and the proposition passed, and addresses legal requirements for the election and resolution.

The Christoval ISD Local Innovation Plan (2021-2026) focuses on improving outcomes for all stakeholders by seeking increased local control over district operations. Key areas of innovation include modifying teacher certification requirements to enhance course offerings and attract qualified instructors; gaining flexibility in school start dates to better meet student and community needs; extending probationary contracts for new personnel; adjusting the length of the school day for improved scheduling; modifying the role of the Campus Behavior Coordinator for a more collaborative approach to student discipline; eliminating the long-range energy plan requirement; streamlining the bank depository contract renewal process; modifying the inter-district transfer policy; reducing the frequency of School Health Advisory Council meetings; implementing early retirement/early-notification incentives; waiving the duty-free lunch requirement for a teacher in a HeadStart partnership; and providing flexibility in planning and preparation time for teachers.

The 2021-2022 Christoval Independent School District goals focus on creating a rigorous and challenging learning environment, attracting and retaining qualified staff, ensuring safe and healthy learning environments, making optimal use of revenue, and maintaining transparent and effective practices. Specific objectives include exceeding state-mandated goals (HB3), providing staff training, implementing consistent classroom management, promoting school safety and security (including anti-bullying and anti-drug policies), maintaining a fair discipline system, balancing the budget, ensuring financial transparency, conducting regular audits, and communicating effectively with the community regarding financial matters and facility needs.
