The meeting included discussion and approval of the City Resurfacing Project Bid Award, which was awarded to ASA Paving LLC.

The council discussed and acted on several items, including the appointment of Derrick Dunn to the Planning & Zoning Board and the appointment of City Clerk Danielle Ferguson as the City's Qualifying Official. Additionally, Building Official Mike Wiggins and Council Member David Hartley were assigned to initiate discussions with the Board of Commissioners regarding overgrowth maintenance on the overpass.

The council discussed the request to display the Prisoner of War (POW) flag in downtown Tennille and reviewed the minutes from June 2, 2025, with a correction noted for the GMA Annual Convention. Monthly reports from the Building Official and the Sheriff were presented for review. The council was presented with the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-2026 and reviewed bids for the city's resurfacing project, with a recommendation for ASA Paving LLC. An executive session was held to discuss personnel matters. There were no new updates from the City Attorney or under Mayor/Council & Committee Concerns.

The work session included a review of the minutes from July 7, 2025, and the presentation of monthly reports from the Building Official for July 2025 and the Sheriff for July 2025. New business included a recommendation to appoint Derrick Dunn to the vacant P & Z Board position, and the Mayor noted the need for council's appointment of the City Clerk as the Qualifying Official during the upcoming election. The City Attorney had no new updates. There were no new Mayor/Council & Committee concerns.

The City Council work session included discussions on grant funding, police services, summer landscaping, and street repaving projects. Council members addressed concerns such as acquiring new speedbumps and debris pickup. Updates were provided on the completion of a walking trail at the recreation center and citizen satisfaction with City debris pick-up.
