This Academic Planning Guide outlines course descriptions, requirements, and elective options for 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students. It details information on advanced courses, UIL requirements, state testing, career and technical education (CTE), and high school credit courses available to middle schoolers. The guide also covers general information such as enrollment, immunizations, and schedule change procedures, providing a comprehensive overview of academic planning for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The meeting included an introduction of the District Lead Nurse, Lindsey Sewell, and a holiday trivia opening activity. The review of SHAC bylaws included a discussion and subsequent passing of a motion to update membership language by a vote of 18 'yeahs'. The Physical Activity Fitness Planning Subcommittee provided an overview, and members were invited to join the subcommittee. The committee reviewed and prioritized health topics for focus, including Screen time, Caffeine awareness, Substance Abuse, and Mental Health, discussing ideas for educating students, families, and campuses, such as through Parent University sessions. Upcoming Parent University dates and future meeting dates were also reviewed.

The visioning activity ensures that every decision about the design of future facilities begins with the student in mind, focusing on the needs, growth, and experiences of students. The discussion includes the purpose of educational experience and facility design, guiding questions, and defined student profiles. The group work involves brainstorming answers to guiding questions and utilizing technology to develop ideas, with a focus on spaces for students and learning environments. Trends in flexibility, learning spaces, common areas, CTE (Career and Technical Education), branding, visibility, natural light, outdoor connections, and dynamic exteriors are explored through various school district examples.

The meeting included an introduction of members, a review of the SHAC mission and purpose, and a review of SHAC bylaws. The council discussed changing the attendance requirement. A parent co-chair was nominated and selected. The creation of a physical activity and fitness planning subcommittee was discussed. The SHAC webpage was reviewed, and priorities for the year were established, including substance use, mental health/suicide prevention, student behaviors (focus, sleep, screens awareness, social), and curriculum.
