The Grady County Board of Commissioners scheduled a Called Meeting for the express purpose of approving the 2026 Fiscal Year Budget.

The meeting included public comments regarding the qualifications for the administrator position, with speakers emphasizing experience and community knowledge. Commissioners discussed the importance of ethics and experience in selecting the administrator. A motion was made to elect Keith Moye, but it was denied. Subsequently, a motion to elect Celeste Tyler was approved, resulting in her being named County Administrator.

The board discussed public comments regarding Tiny Houses and reviewed the calendar of events. Formal actions included approving a change order for site work on the new Recreation Department building, a resolution changing the lot size, a resolution for the Moratorium on Tiny Houses, and the approval of the Road Striping list for bidding. The Tax Commissioner's and Tax Assessor's offices were approved to extend their hours on a trial basis. Bids for paving at Barber Park were rejected, and new bids were approved for road resurfacing. Furnishings were approved for purchase for the EMS building. The Feds may raise the weight limits for trucks to 91,000 lbs. The procedure for closing Plantation Road was reviewed.
