This strategic plan serves as a roadmap for the 1000 Islands Environmental Center, focusing on its mission to provide environmental education, conservation, and recreation. The plan outlines four primary goals: increasing full-time staff to enhance operational capacity, boosting financial support through diversified revenue streams and fundraising, addressing critical building infrastructure needs for improved visitor experience, and upgrading trails to enhance accessibility and address environmental concerns. The overarching aim is to strengthen the center's ability to deliver its mission and ensure long-term sustainability.

The 2024-2026 Strategic Plan for the City of Kaukauna focuses on enriching the community through service and creating a community of choice. The plan prioritizes a high quality of life through services and opportunities, while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment. Key areas of focus include developing a people management plan (including standardized staffing assessments, targeted recruiting, and employee engagement initiatives), creating a community of choice (emphasizing public safety, park improvements, and economic development), and enhancing internal and external communication (through improved council communication, website redesign, and comprehensive communication plans). The plan's foundation rests on the values of service, collaboration, accountability, and respect, and it emphasizes innovation, sustainability, and financial responsibility.

The Common Council meeting addressed various topics, including appointments to various boards and committees, review of committee meeting minutes, reports from city officers, ordinances and resolutions related to easements, survey maps, rezoning, and a development agreement. A public hearing was held to consider rezoning a parcel from Residential Single Family to Business District. Closed sessions were held to discuss the purchase of public properties and legal counsel regarding litigation. Other key items included the approval of operator/bartender licenses, review of various city reports (fire, ambulance, police, code enforcement, municipal court, clerk-treasurer's deposit, and building inspection), approval of a special exception for office space, discussion of pigeon keeping regulations, and consideration of a development agreement.

The committee meeting addressed solicitor's licenses, approving applications that had undergone police department record checks.

The committee discussed updates to speed limit ordinance 7.02(2), specifically addressing speed limits on County Trunk Highway (CTH) CE and Hillcrest Drive (CTH Q). The need for additional traffic control signage at various locations due to increased traffic volume was also addressed, proposing the installation of yield and stop signs to manage right-of-way at several intersections.
