The Montgomery Area School District's strategic plan is focused on developing instructional practices to meet PA Core Standards and ensuring individual student engagement in a blended learning environment. Key initiatives include implementing an MTSS process for academic and behavioral needs, expanding the Montgomery Virtual Academy, supporting personalized professional development, and increasing parent engagement. The board meeting included discussions and actions on various topics. Approvals were given for a referral agreement with Crossroads Counseling Inc., a Dual Enrollment Agreement with Lycoming College, and participation in the Certified Teacher Registered Apprenticeship grant program. The board also approved an Engagement Letter for Special Counsel regarding construction issues at the new school. Building requests from the Montgomery PTO and Ms. Danielle Bryson were approved. Additionally, Mr. William Gresh, Jr. was approved as a Van Driver. The final reading of the 2025-2026 School and Administrative Calendars was approved, as well as the 2025-26 Curriculum Guide. Mr. Jesse Newcomer was approved as Esports Advisor, and personnel matters were addressed, including the approval of sick day transfers, the hiring of an Elementary Music Teacher, and a full-time Custodial/Maintenance employee. The resignation of Mr. Chris Spangler as a Board Member was regretfully approved. Information items included updates from the Junior/Senior High School, Athletics, the Elementary School, the IU, and the Superintendent's discussion on Special Education.

The meeting included approvals for the July 2024 Treasurer's Report and Bills Payable. The board approved bus drivers and aides for the 2024-2025 school year. Shelly Stackhouse was approved as OM Assistant Advisor. Amanda Follmer was approved as an Assistant Girls Soccer Coach. Cross Country Coaches Joanna Kreisher, Clarence Livingston and Glenn Stephens were approved. Ed Sampsell was approved to the Event Staff for sporting events.

The meeting included discussions and actions on various topics. The board ratified the approval of filing a Land Use Appeal of the Land Development Plan Denial and Complaint in Mandamus. They also accepted the resignations of a 5th-grade teacher and a Secondary Chemistry/Biology teacher. Additionally, there was a discussion item regarding old business.
