The commission meeting included an invocation, roll call, and formal recognition of a retiring county attorney. Several budget resolutions were passed, including an amendment for the drug control court, funding for sheriff department maintenance, and the replacement of HVAC units at the jail. Additionally, the commission approved the distribution of opioid settlement funds to the United Way.

The meeting includes the presentation of the School Board approved FY2026-2027 Budget for School Fund 141 and a balanced budget amendment for Summer Learning Grant Funds and miscellaneous housekeeping. Additionally, the committee will review agency information regarding the donation of opioid funds and a balanced budget amendment concerning the remaining opioid fund balance.

The meeting included elections and appointments for the Economic Development Board and an Equalization Board, as well as a public hearing regarding zoning amendments for Agricultural/Residential and Rural Preservation districts. Several resolutions were passed to amend budgets for various departments, including the Drug Fund, General Fund, Sheriff's office, and School Fund. Additionally, the commission declared surplus property for the Sheriff and schools, approved amendments to prior PILOT resolutions for various infrastructure and airport projects, and elected notaries. Department reports were provided regarding highway, trustee, animal control, planning, solid waste, emergency management, emergency medical services, and veteran services.

The Commission meeting involved the recognition of various individuals for their exemplary service during a residential fire and an announcement regarding the retirement of the County Attorney. Multiple administrative items were addressed, including appointments to the Equalization Board and Library Board, and a public hearing regarding Planning and Zoning. Resolutions were approved to rezone a property, amend the budget for several departments including EMS, Circuit Court, and Animal Control, extend retirement coverage in the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System, establish new disposal fees for the Solid Waste Department, and declare surplus property for the Board of Education. Additionally, the commission elected new notaries and discussed general updates regarding budget planning and graduate recognition.

The meeting included the recognition of emergency services personnel for their performance during a recent fire incident, the introduction of a new county attorney, and the presentation of department reports. Nominations were made and approved for the equalization board and library board. Additionally, a resolution for rezoning was approved, and a budget resolution was presented to allocate funding for EMS overtime pay, training, and travel expenses.
