The board discussed several items, including the library director's report on staffing changes and construction impacts, the upcoming Summer Library Program, and committee reports. Actions taken included the election of board officers, designation of authorized bank account signers, approval of a proposed amendment to bylaws for later action, a review of Dane County Library Standards and the library's organizational chart, discussion of the preliminary 2027 library budget and capital budget request, and approval of contracts for solar expansion commissioning and architectural services.

The 2023 Village of Oregon Comprehensive Plan serves as a guiding document to shape the community into a vibrant, thriving, welcoming, accessible, and active place over the next 20 years. The plan focuses on preserving existing character while accommodating efficient growth, fostering economic development, enhancing quality of life and community design, protecting natural resources, increasing housing diversity and affordability, and advancing sustainability and public health. Key strategies include promoting infill and redevelopment, ensuring high-quality design, improving multi-modal transportation, proactive infrastructure planning, and strengthening intergovernmental cooperation, with an overall vision extending to 2043.

The meetings covered the review and prioritization of a list of potential individuals to lead fundraising efforts for the Senior Center project, with external assistance provided in some sessions. Discussions also included planning future meetings with the project's Owner's Representative to address construction vendor donations and development of future agenda items related to donor recognition.

The committee will convene to review its purpose, duties, and relevant local government laws. Key discussion topics include selecting committee leadership, reviewing the transition from the former Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and developing strategies for recruitment to fill vacancies. The meeting will also focus on 2026 goals, including accessibility reviews of Village parks, immigration training concepts for the Police Department, strategies for inclusive recruitment, identifying operational gaps with Department Heads, and partnering with the Finance and Personnel Committee to survey staff on benefit competitiveness.
