The meeting involved a discussion and approval regarding an increase in the building footprint at 97 Queen Street, where any increase over 215 square feet requires a designer view approval. The project includes a proposed library with a glass-walled canopy and a redesign of the sidewalk area with a terrace. The designer reviewer recommended creating a street scape for pedestrians, similar to the existing Gerald Hill library. Planting beds will be added along the base of a retaining wall to soften the concrete and create a pedestrian feel. Public Works was in favor of the redesign.
