The meeting included updates on the completed legislative session and laws affecting education, approval of teaching contracts for Esmeralda Madrigal and Phil Weldele, and discussion on the recent and upcoming co-op committee meetings. The board also discussed handbook updates, elementary and high school activities, the Clean Diesel Grant award, and applied for another Clean Diesel Grant. The school board election is scheduled for June 3, 2025, with the canvassing meeting on June 16, 2025.

The board reviewed financial reports and payroll expenses. Legislative updates were discussed, and the resignation of Ryan Stuhaug was approved. The 2025-2026 school calendar approval was tabled. There were discussions regarding repairs needed in the kitchen, elementary education topics, and high school education and activities.

The budget hearing discussed the proposed budget for the Scranton Public School District. Key topics included school district tax levies, enrollments and projections, average per pupil expenditure, primary school revenue sources (federal, state, and local funding), the North Dakota school funding formula, schools revenue from state, school mill levy comparison, types of local levies, general fund ending balance, proposed budget, and a comparison of mill levies over the years. Increases in spending were attributed to the general cost of expenses due to inflation, salaries/benefits for staff, building repairs, and the need for updated buses and school vehicles.
