The Board of Trustees has scheduled a meeting to discuss items listed on the agenda. The meeting notice includes provisions for potential executive or closed sessions regarding legal consultations, real estate transactions, contracts, personnel matters, security devices, student discipline, and employee relations as permitted by the Texas Government Code.

The Board of Trustees reviewed and accepted the consent agenda, which included reports on accounts payable, cash position and investments, budget status, taxes, transportation, maintenance, and technology. An executive session was held to discuss personnel matters. The meeting also included discussions on the proposed 2023-2024 budget and tax rate, as well as the Intruder Detection Audit findings. The Board approved the Adjunct Faculty Agreement, local policy revisions from the June policy review session, the District Improvement Plan, and the teacher and administrator appraisal calendars.

The Board entered into executive session to discuss personnel matters. Following the session, the Board approved the hiring of new teaching and coaching staff and accepted a resignation. Furthermore, the Board discussed and approved a waiver of the job creation requirement requested by Midway Solar, LLC.

The Board held a public meeting to discuss the FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) report. The business agenda included reports on accounts payable, cash position, investments, budgets, taxes, transportation, maintenance, technology, and enrollment. The Board approved bids for the Welding Shop project, reviewed and approved a budget amendment, and appointed a member to the Pecos County Appraisal District Board. Additionally, the Board authorized an early resignation stipend for professional staff and conducted an executive session to discuss personnel matters.

The Board of Trustees held a public hearing to discuss the proposed budget and tax rate for the upcoming fiscal year. Key actions included the formal adoption of the 2024-2025 budget and the corresponding tax rate. Additionally, the Board approved a revised TASB insurance quote which incorporated school housing, ratified teacher and administrator appraisal calendars, and authorized several budget amendments. The meeting also included an executive session regarding personnel matters.
