The TLC Committee Meeting included discussions and updates on the return to 100% in-person learning, a mid-year data review covering January outcomes, DIBELS, Lexia, Symphony Math, and On-Track metrics. The board also discussed student and family support positions.

Road paving plans were discussed, with consideration given to using permeable and light-colored paving products. Stamford Transfer Station operations and the possibility of increasing fees for non-residential and commercial businesses were reviewed.
The meeting included discussion and potential action on contracts over $100k. Approvals were sought for contracts with Aveanna Healthcare for Special Education Nursing Services, Branching Minds, Constellation School Based Therapy, Cultivate Behavioral Health for BCBA/ABA services, Delta T Group Hartford, Inc. for Special Education Nursing Services, E.L. Achieve for BCBA/ABA services, and The Stepping Stones Group for BCBA/ABA services. Additionally, the board considered purchases for special education students requiring out-of-district tuition. A presentation and discussion on financial controls also took place.
The technology plan is designed to prepare students for the future by leveraging technology to promote lifelong learning, digital citizenship, and community improvement. It focuses on maximizing the effectiveness of the curriculum, individualizing the educational experience, and providing equitable opportunities for all students. The plan addresses key areas such as curriculum, personalized professional learning, budget and resources, community partnerships, data and privacy, robust infrastructure, and space and time, aligning with the district's strategic plan pillars of community focus, culture of inclusion, operational excellence, strong curriculum, and student-centered approach.
The meeting involved a discussion of legal opinions regarding board liability, as detailed in a letter from counsel dated March 10, 2021. A motion to go into executive session to discuss a matter related to public records disclosure was amended to allow for public discussion. The amended motion passed with a 5-4 vote, while the original motion to go into executive session failed. The meeting concluded with an adjournment.
