The General Session agenda included reviewing communications such as liquor control permit transfer notices, city treasurer and tax office reports for October and November 2025, and official reports from the City Auditor, Safety Service Director, and Mayor. Key legislative items scheduled for discussion included an ordinance establishing the position and salary for the Clerk of Council, an ordinance providing temporary appropriations for the first quarter of 2026, and a resolution adopting the Solid Waste Management Plan for Mahoning County.

The regular meeting agenda included a review of communications which contained the Struthers Tax Office Monthly Report for December 2025 collections, the City Auditor's monthly financial statements, and the City Treasurer's reports for December 2025. The agenda also featured the Mayor's Report for January 14, 2026, and a legislative item concerning an ordinance to authorize a contract with K.O. Consulting, LLC for grant services for Calendar Year 2026. The session also included time for addressing pending legislation and new business.

The meeting included communications regarding the Nebo Field lease termination, monthly tax collection reports, and the Mayor's report. The Mayor's report highlighted the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, the City Newsletter, a Fire Department Grant Award, the Annual Tree Photography Contest, the Mahoning River Garden Club, the Kinship Program, and St. A's Youth Bocce. The council also discussed and passed several ordinances related to employment provisions, public health services, zoning variances, and salaries for elected officials and various city positions.

The meeting included discussions on a liquor permit transfer, the Mayor's report with comments on the gas tax, and committee meetings regarding pending legislation, the Landlord Ordinance, and property maintenance issues. Council addressed a resolution authorizing bids for the Wetmore Drive and State Street Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project, and another declaring the necessity of submitting the question of fire station construction bonds to the electors. The council also addressed the resurfacing of SR 616 within the city limits. Additionally, there were concerns raised by residents regarding neighborhood conditions, vacant houses, drug deals, and property maintenance.

The meeting included reports from the Mayor, Auditor, and Safety Service Director. Council discussed and passed ordinances related to commercial vehicle parking in residential districts, appropriations for current expenses in early 2020, and authorizing the Safety Service Director to enter into a live auction sale agreement for municipally-owned personal property.
