The 2025-26 Local Control and Accountability Plan for Big Valley Joint Unified School District focuses on several key goals: creating a positive school climate to promote student wellness and parent involvement, ensuring students have access to a broad course of study aligned with California's Common Core State Standards, and closing achievement gaps to prepare students for high school, college, and careers. The plan outlines specific actions, such as enhancing communication, providing library materials, supporting summer school, offering PBIS incentives, and implementing social-emotional learning PD. It also addresses the needs of unduplicated students (English Learners, foster youth, and low-income students) through targeted interventions and resources.

The board meeting included a closed session to discuss negotiations with Southern Cascade/Adin Primary School, public employee discipline, school board self-evaluation, negotiations with BVTA bargaining unit, and public comments regarding closed session items. Open session items included staff reports from BVTA, CSEA, and the Athletic Director; an administrative report covering WASC updates, LCAP updates, the afterschool program, and school activities; approval of a declaration of need for educators; approval of coaching appointments for boys' and girls' basketball; setting the date and time for the organizational meeting; approval of bill warrants; a discussion of surplus property; and the appointment of a district representative for the LMAEC Adult Ed. Consortium.
