Its objective is to maximize operational efficiencies, reduce waste, and enhance public services through the integration of effective sustainability measures.

The 'Game Plan Apex' serves as the foundational strategic plan for the Town of Apex, guiding its operations through five core areas: fostering a welcoming community, ensuring a high-performing government, demonstrating environmental leadership, promoting responsible development, and enhancing economic vitality. Currently in its fourth year of a five-year initial timeline, the plan is under review for potential refresh, with a long-term 'Vision 2055' serving as an overarching direction.

The council meeting covered various administrative updates and community initiatives. Key topics included the celebration of the Juneteenth event, an update on the electric meter replacement program, and a detailed review of utility billing collections, with plans to improve delinquent account management. Additionally, maintenance updates for the splash pad and nature park athletic lighting were discussed, along with a presentation on the Kidstown playground renovation project. The session also involved the monitoring of state legislation and the recognition of Alzheimer's and Brain Health Awareness Month through a proclamation.
