The Port of Seattle's Sustainable Airport Master Plan (SAMP) outlines proposed airport improvements to meet future forecasted demand, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. Key strategic areas include accommodating increasing passenger and cargo growth, enhancing Airfield infrastructure to meet FAA standards, improving taxiway layout efficiency, and meeting projected fuel storage demand, including sustainable aviation fuels. The Seattle Waterfront Clean Energy Strategy provides a roadmap for developing clean energy infrastructure to electrify vehicles, vessels, rail, equipment, and buildings on Port of Seattle and Northwest Seaport Alliance properties. It forecasts a four-fold increase in port power needs by 2050, driven by shore power, and addresses infrastructure constraints. The strategy outlines 33 capital projects and eight strategic actions, including capacity improvements, a joint implementation framework, funding development, site master planning integration, resiliency assessment, clean technology promotion, and innovative business models, all aimed at achieving decarbonization goals and promoting environmental justice.
