Soliciting qualified bids for Noxious Weed Abatement Control.
AvailableIn compliance with the City of Grosse Pointe Park’s (GPP) Gutter and Downspout Disconnect Ordinance, GPP disconnected roof downspouts at the City Hall entrance, adjacent to the driveway leading from E. Jefferson Avenue. Stormwater that previously drained underground is now discharged to the city hall front entrance way and sidewalk, draining down to one of two major transportation corridors in the city. This front entrance to City Hall now experiences frequent flooding with runoff draining directly to East Jefferson Avenue. In addition, the resultant ice buildup in below freezing temperatures creates a significant safety hazard to pedestrians. Plans for the site will redirect and retain stormwater using a combination of gutter and downspouts, an underground drain, permeable pavers, filtering media and plantings. This project represents a first step toward an effort to mitigate runoff through green stormwater infrastructure.
