Samara Avenue Improvements - Volga, South Dakota

Bids requested for the construction of 205th Avenue Improvements, encompassing excavation, paving, culvert installation, fencing, striping, signing, and segmental retaining wall construction.

Work includes dewatering and flow diversion, clearing and grubbing, prevention, control and abatement of erosion and water, 1000 SY type b stabilization (12") (lbr=40), 855 SY recycled concrete road base (10"), 920 SY milling of existing asphalt pavement (1-1/2" average depth), 1770 SY superpave asphalt concrete (2-1/2"), 1 ea ditch bottom inlet (type "v"), 213 LF concrete pipe culvert (18" rcp, class iii), 30 LF precast concrete trench drain type ii, 90 SY concrete sidewalk (4" thick), 190 LF chain link fence (6' high) (88 ft removal / 72 FT replacement). Avenue will be expanded to 5 lanes on the north and south legs of the intersection including two-through lanes and a left-turn lane at the intersection in each direction. Street will be expanded to 4 lanes in the east and west directions including a left turn lane. The intersection will have new sidewalks and ADA-compliant curb ramps on each leg of the intersection. New traffic signals will be installed on each leg of the intersection as well. In addition, new pavement striping and signage will be installed. The project also includes the milling and overlaying improvements of existing asphalt pavement with portland cement concrete for improvements at the street and avenue intersection. The project includes new traffic signals at the intersection, new sidewalks, new pavement markings and signage.

The work includes milling and paving, HMA profile milling, full depth pavement repair, upgrading bicycle safe grates/eco curb pieces, drainage improvements, as well as other improvements depicted within the Construction Plans. Alternate Bid ‘A' consists of installation of 24” precast polymer concrete trench drain at the intersection of Studio Road and Day Avenue.
