Community capacity building grants seek to help homestead lessee communities to carry out their community visions and plans. Capacity areas include but are not limited to the following: (1) mission, vision, strategy; (2) governance and leadership; (3) program research, development, evaluation; (4) community outreach/engagement and strategic relationships; (5) resource development (ie funds, staff, community volunteers); and (6) internal administrative systems. Partnerships and teams of dhhl beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries, including individuals and organizations, are encouraged to apply. Proposed capacity building projects must be beneficiary-driven, demonstrate beneficiary leadership and assistance, and benefit existing dhhl homestead lessees.
