The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is consolidating forensic laboratory services and the Department of Enterprise Services (DES) has issued an RFQ for architectural and engineering (A/E) design services for the new Crime Lab South. The selected firm will provide comprehensive A/E services including schematic and design development, construction documents, permitting, bidding assistance, construction administration, and project closeout for either a renovation in Federal Way or new construction on state land. The posting lists an anticipated schedule with property acquisition by June 2026, design March–December 2026, construction July 2027–December 2028, and occupancy expected in early 2029.

The Department of the Army (Mission Installation Contracting Command, Joint Base Lewis-McChord) posted a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole-source contract for subscription access to the Washington State Patrol (WSP) ACCESS law-enforcement database. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed-price IDIQ with two five-year ordering periods to Washington State Patrol, citing FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B) that WSP is the only responsible source. Interested parties may submit comments or notice of interest by 12:00 PM PST on 2025-12-09; this notice is not a grant and remains active as a special notice on SAM.gov.
