Accepting applications for the Agricultural Growth, Research, and Innovation (AGRI) Crop Research Grant. This funding is intended to generate applied crop research that will improve agricultural product quality, quantity, or value within Minnesota’s crop industry. Any Minnesota organization, research entity, individual, or business with agricultural research capabilities is eligible to apply. The maximum grant is $250,000, and MDA expects to award $1.75 million through this round of funding. There is special consideration for projects with an outreach plan describing how activities or outcomes meaningfully inform farmers or rural communities with limited economic opportunities.

Accepting applications from agricultural and rural electric cooperatives for the Green Fertilizer Grant Program. This program offers grants between $250,000 and $3.8 million to support investment in business-ready and shovel-ready projects for green fertilizer manufacturing facilities producing nitrogen-based fertilizers from water, air, and renewable energy.

The Rollover Protective Structure Rebate Program helps farmers retrofit tractors built before 1987 with rollover protection equipment. The program covers at least 70% of the cost of purchasing, shipping, and installing a rollover protection kit (roll bar and safety belt).
