This project entails the maintenance, repair, and painting of a welded corten steel 2,000,000-gallon water tank, addressing both interior and exterior components to enhance its longevity, functionality, and safety. The project also includes coordination with the owner to minimize service disruption during the work. Tasks Include the following interior surface work: Conduct surface preparation including abrasive blasting and cleaning to remove existing coatings and contaminants; Perform spot epoxy repairs on interior surfaces to address localized corrosion or damage; Apply a multi-coat potable water-safe epoxy system to protect the interior surfaces and ensure compliance with NSF/ANSI 61 standards; Repair the tank floor with epoxy to seal leaks and maintain the integrity of the reservoir. Exterior Surface Work includes the following: Conduct surface preparation including abrasive blasting and cleaning to remove existing coatings and contaminants; Prepare and paint the exterior surface of the tank using a durable, weather-resistant coating system; Caulk the exterior perimeter of the tank where it meets the concrete foundation to prevent moisture intrusion. Safety and Structural Upgrades include the following: Remove the existing ladder cage and install a modern safety rail climb system and rooftop vent anchor system. Affix four OSHA-compliant confined space placards: one at the base of the exterior ladder, one at each reservoir manway, and one at the access hatch. The scope of work also includes the following overarching tasks to insure a successful project: Isolate the tank from the distribution system and drain the tank while coordinating with the owner to ensure system requirements are met; Conduct intermediate and final inspections, including dry film thickness (DFT) measurements, adhesion testing, and visual evaluations to ensure the quality of coatings and repairs; Provide detailed documentation of all work performed including inspection reports and warranty information.
