The City of Crawfordsville is soliciting sealed bids for the Purple Heart Parkway Field Drain and Drainage Ditch Reroute Project. The project scope includes the elimination of an at-grade railroad crossing (grade separation) at the existing Market Street and CSX Railroad crossing (US DOT ID: 341400J) to improve safety, mobility, emergency response, and economic considerations. The project design and process shall comply with Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) development guidance and funding requirements. The objective of the project is to complete the Project Planning and Project Development stages of the FRA’s Railroad Capital Projects lifecycle to position the City of Crawfordsville to apply for future funding opportunities to later complete the Final Design and Construction lifecycles for this grade elimination project. The construction cost for the project is currently estimated at $20.73M.
