Water intake contract B tunnels, shafts, and intake structure. Rock Tunnel and Shaft Construction - Includes construction of the pump station tunnel, pump station shaft, and intermediate shaft. Rock tunneling methods, including drilling and blasting, are required to construct the tunnel and shafts. Permanent linings will be installed in the pump station shaft and pump station tunnel. Microtunnel Construction - Microtunneling is planned to construct the intake tunnel. Intake Structure Construction - The intake structure will be constructed in Lake Sidney Lanier. The work will involve various underwater construction processes.

Construction of a new raw water pump station and intake. The new raw water pump station will include a total of five (5) vertical turbine pumps, associated electrical and control equipment, intake wet-well, run-of-river intake screens with air burst cleaning system, intake piping, emergency generators, and pump station building. The project will also include approx., 140' of 30" diameter raw water line and approx., 40' of 20" diameter raw water line.

The project involves the removal of the existing intake pipes, check valves, and butterfly valves at the Wayne mason raw water intake site. New check valves, butterfly valves and a freight lift with enclosure will be installed. The contractor will install two new intake pipes with tee screens at elevations of 1,025 and 1,042.5 FT in the lake. A concrete meter vault will be installed at the site, and a new flow meter will be provided by the owner for installation on the 78" raw water transmission line. The project also involves the coring of a new wet well penetration for the pipe at elevation of 1,042.5 FT. Site modifications will improve access, mobility, security, and stormwater management.
