City Solicitor (RFP)

The city solicitor shall: a. Represent the city in all legal matters and shall advise and assist the city council, the city administrator and the departments as required in the administration of city government. B. Attend meetings of the city council, draft ordinances and resolutions as directed by the city administrator or the majority of the members of the council, and give opinions and rulings on questions of law which may arise at the council meetings at the request of a majority of the members of the city council or the city administrator. C. Prepare or approve all legal instruments relating to the business of the city. D. Represent the city in any litigation, and conduct trials, appeals and other proceedings affecting the interest of the city as he may in his discretion determine to be necessary or desirable, subject to the approval of the council.
