Serve as bond counsel for the Mayor and Common Council of the City. Apprise the City and its officials and offices of developments in the law requiring compliance, policy development or other action. The position of Municipal Bond Counsel is for specialized legal work and services in connection with matters of public finance and other matters directed by the City Council, including but not limited to authorization, issuance, sale and delivery of bonds and/or bond anticipation notes, including the preparation of bond ordinances, resolutions authorizing financing, the preparation and review of the notice of sale and the bond or bond anticipation notes, the assistance in the preparation and review of official statements, the preparation of all closing documents necessary for the issuance of bonds or bond anticipation notes, attendance at the closing of the bonds or bond anticipation notes, preparation and providing final approving opinions for bond or bond anticipation note issuances. The municipal bond counsel will also represent the City before the Local Finance Board of the State of New Jersey as necessary.
