The approximate quantities for the principal items of work under this contract are: 1847 LF - 6" c-900, PVC water main; 105 LF - 6" hdpe pipe (dr11) (directional bore); 520 LF - 3/4" service line; 380 LF - 2" PVC encasement (bored); 16 each - water service reconnection (complete in place); 2 each - tie-in to existing water system; 4 each - 6" gate valve with box; 4 each - fire hydrant assembly (complete); 100 lf - saw cut pavement/driveways (variable depth); 125 SY - remove and replace asphalt pavement (crush stone); 100 SY - remove and replace concrete drive; 50 Y - remove and replace concrete sidewalk; 100 SY - remove and replace concrete curb & gutter; 100 SY - borrow excavation (class 9) (fm); 0.25 acres - seeding and mulching; 1 each - 6" tapping sleeve and valve with box; 7 each - tree removal, all sizes.

The Alternate Bid is the additional new water main installation, which includes approx. 255 LF of 6" PVC C-900 DR-18 water main, 1815 LF of 8" PVC C-900 DR-18 water main, 76 LF of 8" restrained joint PVC C-900 DR-18 water main, (3) fire hydrants, (3) 6" resilient seated gate valves and boxes, (12) 8" resilient seated gate valves and boxes, and all other relevant appurtenances and related work.
This project will replace 1910 LF of 1950's vintage 6" cast iron water main with 8" HDPE water main by pipe bursting methods. The project includes provision of temporary water service to customers and reconnecting 26 water services with varying scopes of service line replacement up to the curb stop. The project will include traffic control, erosion control, and final restorations of both turf and bituminous pavement surfaces.
