State of Oregon
The State of Oregon, acting by and through its Higher Education Coordinating Commission (“HECC”), is issuing this Request for Applications (“RFA”) to establish new and innovative Registered Apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs in early learning and care, K-12 education, and behavioral health sectors, for a total of six awards, with total available funding of $689,680. Pre-apprenticeships are a secondary focus of the grant and need to be tied to the new Registered Apprenticeship program. HECC will fund the highest quality Applications, regardless of industry. Applicants may submit Applications that propose Projects in any of the industries. If an Applicant proposes multiple Projects, the Applicant must submit individual Applications for each Project. HECC will consider each Project in isolation from the Applicant’s other Applications. Funding authority is tied to the United States Department of Labor (“DOL”) State Apprenticeship Expansion (“SAEF3”) Grant that HECC has been awarded.
Statewide Apprenticeship Creation Grant RFP
Hawaii Department of Accounting and General Services
Grant proposals statewide for disaster preparedness, prevention, and mitigation projects, programs and/or services in existing homesteads on hawaiian home lands. Grant proposals may cover a broad range of areas in disaster preparedness and mitigation.
New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development
In March of 2018, Governor Murphy announced the development of the first Office of Apprenticeship, which was to develop and manage grant programs, educate New Jerseyans on the benefits of the in New Jersey, as well as the creation of the New Jersey Apprenticeship Network. The Office of Apprenticeship and Work-Based Learning works closely with USDOL and serves as the one-stop shop for employers, nonprofits, and secondary- and post-secondary institutions interested in apprenticeship opportunities. The GAINS grant has been designed to help workers and others with access to on-the-job training and advanced credentials.
New York State Energy Research and Development Authority
Through this funding opportunity, and in working with labor organizations and registered pre-apprenticeship programs across the State, the State Energy Research and Development Authority seeks to grow a diverse, equitable, and inclusive pipeline of skilled talent for the clean energy labor market. Projects funded through this solicitation are intended to create and/or expand the capacity of Direct Entry Pre-apprenticeship and Registered Apprenticeship programs as a pathway to high-quality, family supporting jobs. Eligible initiatives must include clean energy technical training in target areas (developing new or expanding existing clean energy training capacity) and hands-on experience for pre-apprentices, apprentices, and/or journey workers, ensuring they have the skills and qualifications required to meet the demands of a clean energy economy.
