The authority is currently looking for a transformational leader capable of leading a premiere convention center alongside a seasoned management team and a bold advocate for positive progression in the convention industry. The general manager must embrace mccormick place’s mission to drive economic impact to the city and state while positioning the authority to meet its outlined financial obligations. The general manager will oversee all event operations at mccormick place including facilities, staff, and client relations to ensure the efficient and successful execution of events. The general manager will establish and maintain exceptional relationships with clients and client organizations, service contractors, convention industry associations, other convention centers, labor representatives, chicago’s hospitality community including choose chicago, and local government representatives to ensure the advancement of mccormick place’s mission. The position requires expertise in venue management, particularly within the public sector, and involves managing various aspects of convention facility operations
