Science Teaching Lab (STL) Reroof and HVAC Project

Project scope includes renovation and relocation of Teaching Labs from the first to the second floor, improving space efficiencies by combining existing teaching spaces into a larger teaching lab, and creating an interdisciplinary Robotics Class Lab, as well as modifications to an existing classroom in EBIII. The renovations will include new carpet, wall finishes, and lighting with slight modification to the HVAC system (reduction of controllers, moving registers) – as well as the installation of a support structure for a motion capture system in the repurposed conference space, which will become a drone test lab.

Work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: asbestos abatement, removal and replacement of existing tile roofing, removal and replacement of basement air handler units, removal and replacement of penthouse air handler units as per project bid specifications.

City of Knoxville

ITB - LT Ross Building Reroof Roofing upgrades to the LT Ross Building. The roof is approximately 64,835 square feet. It will receive a new direct adhered TPO or PVC roof system with a 20-year no-limit warranty by the manufacturer/installer. Insulation upgrades as necessary to meet energy code based on roof core results will be made.
