This project entails the design, installation, configuration, and commissioning of a Nurse Call System to enhance communication and patient care within the hospital facility. The system will provide efficient and reliable communication between patients, nurses, and hospital staff to ensure prompt responses to patient needs.

The project will replace the obsolete Rauland Responder IV nurse call system in the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center (RRUMC). The project scope includes decommissioning of the existing Rauland Responder IV nurse call system throughout RRUMC, including disconnecting and removing Rauland nurse call buttons, consoles, and wall-mounted and bedside units; upgrades and modifications to the existing low-voltage electrical systems, including the installation of new receptacles, network cabling, conduits, and nurse call stations; installation of new Hill-Rom nurse call system components in patient rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and nurse stations, including new nurse call buttons near each patient bed, wall-mounted devices, consoles, display panels, and corridor and over-door lights; integration with other hospital systems, including alarm, paging and communication, electronic health records, and fire life safety systems; upgrade of communication consoles within individual distribution frame rooms; and testing and commissioning of all new Hill-Rom system components, including safety and compliance and backup power testing. Servers, handsets with pillow speaker buttons, and nurse call information technology software and hardware will be procured separately. There are staging impacts associated with this project. Sequencing will be completed by nursing unit and floor.
