Planning Board Attorney (RFP)

Planning board attorney to provide professional services to the planning board of the borough on all legal issues related to the standard operations of the borough s planning board. The Planning Board Attorney shall perform the following minimum duties, as well as those prescribed by applicable law, subject to the review and approval of the Planning Board. Responsibilities shall include: Defending claims assigned by the Planning Board; Preparing reports and providing advice and counsel at Planning Board meetings regarding issues that arise, including but not limited to: litigation; regulations; and ordinances; when requested by the Chairman, replying to inquiries from residents and/or commercial enterprises; attending regular meetings when required by the Chairman; familiarity with the operation of local governmental units in New Jersey; familiarity with the Municipal Land Use Law, Master Plans and updates; and drafting or amending land use ordinances for consideration of the Planning Board.
