Summary
The purpose of this project is to disconnect the building from the co-generation plant steam lines and provide natural gas condensing boilers for heating and domestic water. scope includes the following:
1. Removal of the existing steam-to-heating hot water heat exchangers and the installation of a new central utility building housing six (6) new heating hot water boilers and associated heating hot water circulation pumps and accessories. 2. Removal of the existing steam-to-domestic hot water heat exchangers and the installation of three (3) new gas fired water heaters and related accessories. 3. Installation of a new pipe rack system located on the roof of the existing building connecting utilities between the existing building and the new central utility building. Utilities located on the pipe rack will include heating hot water supply/return piping, natural gas piping, power conduits, fire alarm conduits, BMS conduits and data/tele conduits. 4. Extension of the existing Trane Control system to integrate the new boiler plant and domestic heating hot water system.
5. Removal of the campus medium pressure steam system inclusive of service entrance, pressure-reduced stations and steam/condensate distribution piping.
