Water Environment Research Foundation
Identify promising non-evaporative cooling technologies to meet large-scale cooling loads for commercial, industrial, and institutional (CII) entities. Examples include resorts, stadiums, hospitals, office complexes, industrial sites, and data centers. Explore the applications of the promising technologies and investigate their equipment and installation costs, electrical load/connection and consumption requirements, noise levels, footprints, lifespans, rejected heat emissions, and ability to scale to different cooling load requirements. Develop at least three (3) case studies for each of the above categories of sites that have successfully implemented non-evaporative cooling technologies at large scales (greater than 2,500 tons). Develop one case study of an adiabatic/hybrid system successfully implemented for each category. Applicants may request up to $170,000 in funds for this project.
