Maintenance Dredging, IWW Rehoboth Bay to Delaware Bay (L&R Canal) - Sussex County

The scope of this project will consist of maintenance dredging of approx. 90,000 CY of sediment. Base contract work includes dredging between Lewes, DE and North Shores, DE with placement of the dredged material into one or both of the upland dredged material placement facilities in Lewes, DE between the canal and Cedar Street. There will be two (2) Options to dredge between North Shores and Rehoboth Bay with beneficial use of dredged material for shoreline restoration and/or marsh restoration near Thompson Island near the entrance of the Canal at Rehoboth Bay. Solicitation will allow hydraulic cutterhead or mechanical dredging to -6 feet MLLW (Datum) plus 1’ allowable over depth. The base contract will also require minor earthwork for embankment improvements at one or both disposal areas. The base contract period of performance is 365 calendar days with an additional 300 days added if one or both Options are awarded. Due to environmental restrictions, dredging is only permitted between 1 October and 1 March.
