US Drug Enforcement Administration
The security system shall be comprised of IDS devices. The IDS shall be comprised of a Federal Protective Services (FPS) compatible alarm panel and keypads with multiple alarm groups; connected via network connection with a backup cellular communicator in case of line or communication failure; with zone shunt keypads located inside the protected zones; where each user has a separate code; where users can arm, but not disarm the entire system from one of the keypads. Each zone is protected by both motion sensors and high security balanced magnetic switch (BMS) door contacts, and glass break sensors (where applicable). All systems will be installed per manufacturer specifications. If back‐up generators are utilized, the UPS capacity may be reduced to thirty (30) minutes to ensure smooth transition to generator and during refueling. All Electronic Security Systems (ESS) equipment panels for the IDS will be contained in the DEA Firebird Room and / or associated IT/LAN Room(s).
