Inspectors will be responsible for verifying that materials, workmanship, and construction processes meet project requirements. Monitor the production, delivery, placement, and compaction of hot mix asphalt (HMA), including temperature measurements, joint construction, and the use of appropriate compaction equipment Checking the placement of forms, ensuring proper alignment and grade, verifying the correct use of release agents, and confirming that concrete is consolidated properly using vibrators. Verify the placement of dowel bar baskets and reinforcement steel, protect existing joints, and ensure uniform strike-off and proper placement of manhole and catch basin frames. Conduct asphalt sampling and testing of materials in the field and laboratory to ensure compliance with specifications. Collection of samples as close as possible to where the material is incorporated into the project and verifying that testing procedures are performed correctly Documenting all observations, including weather conditions, equipment used, crew details, and material quantities, which are essential for payment applications, progress tracking, and potential dispute resolution Ensure that contractor workmanship complies with contract requirements and that corrective actions are implemented for identified issues. Identifying and reporting issues such as delaminations, deteriorated concrete, voids, and subsurface moisture. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods allowed: Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Infrared Thermography (IRT) Ensure that quality assurance programs are followed, observe sampling and testing procedures, review contractor test data, and ensure that the contractor maintains control over verification sampling. Work various hours and schedules as required by the project and possess technical competencies related to materials, testing, and construction processes. The specific responsibilities can vary based on the project scope, such as paving, or drainage work, and may require certification, such as the Paving Inspector Certification (PIC) program offered by the Asphalt Institute or specialized certification for pavement construction.

Milling and paving of asphalt roadway and associated restoration on church street from the railroad crossing approx. 650 feet easterly toward avenue.
Town of Chestertown
Paving of a one-lane road. The project includes milling and repaving a section of queen street to provide positive drainage, fine grading and compacting the unpaved lane leading to water street and pave the existing gravel lane with a 2.5" base coat and 1.5" top coat. Millings and debris to be removed and disposed of by contractor.
City of Booneville
Work includes mobilization, maintenance of traffic, hot mix asphalt, st, 12.5mm leveling (315 tons), hot mix asphalt, st, 12.5mm overlay (5,000 tons), cold milling of bituminous pavement, all depths (7,500 SY).
