This strategic plan for the School District of the City of Pontiac serves as a roadmap to navigate educational challenges and achieve its long-term vision. It is built upon four key pillars: Student Achievement, Social-Emotional Health and Wellbeing, District Innovation and Operational Sustainability, and Equitable Community and Economic Development. The plan aims to equip students for success, foster supportive learning environments, drive innovation, and contribute to community and economic development, with the ultimate goal of becoming a premier school district recognized for excellence in student achievement, college readiness, and postsecondary success.

This public hearing was held to present the proposed fiscal year 2024-2025 budget, including the tax levy. Key discussion points included the budget process and timeline, an explanation of district accounting funds, a summary of all funds, details on the general fund and sub-funds, remaining funds, proposed millage rates and tax information, and next steps. The budget includes significant changes in revenue and expenditures, particularly due to shifts in ESSER and Title I funding, changes in state aid, and the impact of MPSERS UAAL rates. Staffing changes, including new positions and vacancies, were also discussed.
