This strategic plan is designed to guide College Unbound's fidelity towards its vision, supporting a world where lifelong learning enables fuller participation in life. The plan focuses on fostering lifelong learning, building capacity for learners and collaborators, rooting sustainability in equity and student success, capturing evidence of transformational outcomes, and growing with a commitment to equity, place, and purpose. The plan involves stakeholders such as staff, board, leadership, students, alumni, community partners, faculty, and the community of care.

College Unbound's strategic plan (2022-2027) focuses on four key goals: fostering lifelong learning and capacity building; ensuring sustainability through equity and student success; capturing evidence of transformational and equitable outcomes; and growing, adapting, and innovating with a commitment to equity, place, and purpose. The plan emphasizes a student-driven model, equity and social justice, community engagement, and data-driven assessment to improve student outcomes and institutional impact. It aims to create a more accessible, just, and liberatory higher education experience for underserved adult learners, expanding its reach nationally while maintaining a strong foundation in Rhode Island.

College Unbound's strategic plan (2017-2021) focuses on improving the lives of underserved and underrepresented adult learners in Rhode Island by providing access to and completion of purpose-driven bachelor's degrees. The plan emphasizes a student-centered approach, recognizing prior learning and adapting curriculum to the needs of working adults. Nine strategic goals are outlined, covering areas such as expanding reach, refining curriculum, building a diverse faculty, increasing stakeholder engagement, developing IT infrastructure, building administrative capacity, achieving financial self-sufficiency, fostering alumni connections, and advocating for adult learner-focused higher education. The plan aims to create pathways out of low-wage jobs and into rewarding careers for low-income adult learners.
